Team and Position Summary:
This position is with NexTech under the Enterprise Business Services organisation. Enterprise areas of Walmart like Finance, Indirect Procurement, People Systems and others are in the midst of massive digital transformation.
Our team is building products for these areas, dealing with challenges from gathering user data, developing machine learning models to understand business processes better and making them more holistically data driven and intelligent. We leverage machine learning, natural language processing (NLP) and big data technologies to get the scale and precision required for solving these problems. We are also working on some cutting edge deep learning and computer vision technologies to solve some of the business critical problems.
The role is of a Senior Manager who is motivated to build and lead one or more high performing scrum teams and actively contribute to the architecture and design of new features. The role demands to lead, motivate, mentor, and provide ample guidance to the other team members with respect to technical challenges. The role is also expected to make a difference to the product in terms of the innovative thoughts, best designs and contribute towards identifying technical risks and find alternate solutions to various problems
A Senior Manager I - Data Science is responsible for managing a team of Data Science/ML experts. Having expertise analyzing large data sets to develop multiple custom models and algorithms to drive innovative business solutions. Works on large project teams in order to provide analytical support and guidance to an assigned area on for large projects.
- Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects
- Provides supervision, coaching and development opportunities for associates
- Proficiency in data mining, modelling, validation and insight generation
- Excellent working knowledge of statistics, mathematics and machine learning algorithms
- Proficiency in coding languages, including Python and SQL
- Ability to work with large data sets. Has sound understanding of big data technology stack
- Understanding of GCP and large-scale databases
- Proven ability to collaborate and work in teams
- Excellent with communications and stakeholder engagement
- Data science publications in recognized platforms/journals
- Proven ability to lead agile data science sprint projects
- Research new techniques and best practices within the industry.
- Validate models and algorithmic techniques.
- Retail experience preferred.
Master's or PhD in Statistics/Mathematics/Management/Data Science from a premier institute. And 10-12 years of experience in the field of analytics and data science
