Taiwan Media team develops and operates 30+ websites and mobile apps including Homepage, News, Finance, Entertainment, TV Lives, and Commerce; providing premium digital content to millions of users every day and helping us dominate in the TW/HK market. The team pioneers and provides solutions and technologies in machine learning, recommendation and personalization, information extraction, knowledge graph construction and management, and information retrieval. What you do will meaningfully contribute to the bigger success of the company.We are looking for backend engineers with strong coding skills, and reasonable understanding in machine learning. You will be coding in Java and/or Python on Unix platform to build up a platform with capability to handle huge scale of data/traffic within seconds, and to enhance current platform for the coming growth. If you have a desire to be part of building the fastest, biggest, and most innovative products on the planet, come talk to us.
You are expected to work with our research engineers to apply scientific thinking and techniques to improve the performance and effectiveness of our products, as well as retrieval system engineering. You might also need to perform metrics analysis for further model enhancement and build up a fast prototype to demonstrate the algorithm. You will have the opportunity to publish your work and expand the horizons of web science and the experience of building online systems.
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Math or related field
- Experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, computational linguistics, NLP, feature extraction, and data mining, ideally on a Web scale.
- Experience in recommendation engines, user behavior modeling, revenue optimization.
- Good communication and collaboration skills to work with people from a variety of technical backgrounds and geographical locations. Enjoys helping people, remains friendly and constructive under stress.
