Description

The Computational Economics and Finance unit (https://wwz.unibas.ch/de/cef//, head: Prof. Dietmar Maringer) is focusing on machine learning, simulation, computational intelligence, and data analytics for economics and business, with a strong emphasis on finance and applications in economics and business. We invite applications for a PhD position (employment as a teaching and research assistant) starting 1 August 2023 or by agreement.
Your position
- enrolment in the departmental PhD program (https://wwz.unibas.ch/en/research/graduate-school-of-business-and-economics-1/)
- collaboration in departmental research projects and individual research
- assistance and participation in teaching and administrative tasks
Your profile
- graduates with a MSc / MA in areas such as economics, finance, business, computational sciences, or related disciplines
- strong quantitative background
- keen interest in computational methods and their applications in finance and economics
- Fluent in English; knowledge of German is an advantage
