The Institute for Systems Engineering invites applications for the position of a Research Assistant (m/f/d) - Dependable and Scalable Software Systems (Salary Scale 13 TV-L, 100 %) starting as soon as possible. The position is limited to 4 years.

Responsibilities and duties

Research in the area of software systems is the central task of this position, in particular the design, implementation, and experimental evaluation of novel systems in the area of cloud computing, operating systems, distributed machine learning or edge computing. If required, you can take on teaching tasks, primarily the supervision of thesis projects as well as assistance in the organization of courses. The position offers the opportunity to pursue a PhD in computer science.

Employment conditions

A prerequisite for employment is a completed scientific university degree (Master) in computer science or in a closely related field. Furthermore, experience in programming and experimentation, a very good command of English, and the enjoyment of scientific and independent work are desired.
