Description

This is an exciting and unique opportunity for an ambitious recent PhD graduate or post-doctoral data scientist with the ability and confidence to manage a strategically important Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project with KultraLab Limited.  As a market leader in developing a behaviour change coaching platform to revolutionise workforce performance, KultraLab develops a personalised, dynamic, and measurable digital coaching platform which support the behaviour changes and performance improvement for retailers and other organisations.

The University of Manchester and KultraLab are looking to recruit a data scientist with the expertise in Machine Learning and Text Mining and to undertake this 30-month project, whose overall aim is to develop, embed and exploit advanced artificial intelligence (AI) capability for the development of a scalable, AI-based digital coaching platform, enabling workforces to fulfil their performance potential using the power of coaching.

The position will provide the successful candidate with a unique opportunity to apply state-of-the-art machine learning and text mining techniques and methods to develop the cutting-edge technologies which has a high level of commercial applicability. You will play a vital role in introducing new Text Mining and Machine Learning techniques to support strategically important future business development.

In additional to the exciting research and development project, the Associate will gain project management experience and access £5,000 for professional development and training, including attendance at two residential managerial workshops (each of one week’s duration). The further benefit includes the opportunity of a permanent position with the company, as 70% of host companies for KTP projects make a permanent job offer to their Associate at the end of the project

This post is funded through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) award, a UK Government scheme intended to promote sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and industry.

Based at KultraLab office hub in Manchester, the successful candidate will work directly with supervisors from both the University and KultraLab and will use the facilities and resources of both organisations.
