The multi-award-winning Digital Data Science team are an ambitious group of people building a class-leading data science practice for insurance. We are focused on unlocking the vast value in our data and we have a goal of augmenting every part of our business with assured artificial intelligence (AI) products.
Joining our team would give you the opportunity to act as the intellectual leader of an experiment-driven group. The Role
- Planning, overseeing and delivering the end-to-end productionisation and deployment of machine learning models.
- Owning and steering a combination of projects and remits within the team simultaneously.
- Applying creativity and flair to AI experiments conducted on real business problems.
- Discovering innovative applications for AI and educating those in the business on our processes.
- Working alongside stakeholders, at all levels within the organisation, to gain domain knowledge to deliver successful products into production.
- The sustainability of the AI products you build in production.
What would we like to see in you?
- The ability to utilise skills and best practice learnt from previous employment and apply them to financial services.
- A demonstrated capability of using AI responsibly and ethically in a commercial environment, preferably in financial services.
- Previous experience of leading stakeholder discussions, conducting experiments and deploying machine learning models into production.
- Leading on the discovery and planning of future projects with the business, in line with our long-term strategy.
- Participation in and benefitting from the community of data scientists around them to support the growth and upskilling of the wider team.
- A communication style that can be tailored to technical and non-technical colleagues, as appropriate.
- An eagerness to share best practice with colleagues through either documentation or mentoring.
- Intellectual evaluation of our current processes to identify improvements.
- A passion to use AI for good and diligence in using the right tool for the right problem.
- A curiosity in the latest research and developments in our field.
- A desire to shape our AI agenda and help instil it into our culture.
Skills & Experience
- A minimum of a 2.1 Batchelors degree in a STEM subject.
- Experience in developing and deploying AI products in a commercial environment (1-2 years minimum).
- Experience with Python and/or R notebook computing.
- Experience in leading the development of machine learning models, across the entire lifecycle, and deploying them into production.
