We are seeking talented software engineers and architects interested in a fast-paced design-test-learn life cycle for innovative computer vision projects. Utilizing world-class space development and test facilities, LM seeks to engineer the next generation of robust, autonomous space vehicle perception and visible navigation solutions across a variety of challenging missions. With an appetite for accepting risk and a drive for innovation, this team intends to employ the latest advances in machine learning, autonomous driving, and deep learning research to meet exciting, emerging customer needs.

In this role you will:
• Immersed within a talented team of engineers working across a variety of potential roles.
• Utilize simulation environments across a range of phenomenologies for synthetic image generation.
• Simulation based performance analysis within a closed-loop simulation environment, inclusive of vehicle guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) simulations, demonstrates end-to-end mission capability.
• Porting C/C++ code to space-industry leading avionics platforms run within real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) environments enables the team to demonstrate platform performance.

Desired skills

• Experience with Matlab and/or Octave
• Experience with Python, Rust programming languages
• OpenCV, familiarity with feature detection, matching, and estimation
• Kalman Filtering and Navigation
• Intimate familiarity with Linux system programming
• Optics, Camera Calibration, Radiometry

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

"Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in Colorado or Washington is $93,400 - $179,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
