Your Tasks And Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of this role, Data Scientist Computer Vision, are to:

  • Provide technical contributions in a fast-paced team environment to accelerate our efforts on building cutting-edge workflows and applications for capturing, processing, and analyzing large data sets;
  • Create novel and apply state-of-the-art methods and technologies from computer vision, machine learning, and deep learning in pilot projects together with scientists from across R&D;
  • Identify tangible value creations, work towards communicating learnings and successes and establish the application of such approaches within R&D;
  • Provide guidance and recommendation to project teams on requirements for data collection in field, lab or manufacturing settings and corresponding labeling, cataloging and storage needs;
  • Perform statistical analysis, computer programming, predictive modeling, and experimental design;
  • Build cross-functional relationships to collaboratively partner with the business and effectively network within the Data Science Community;
  • Utilize advanced mathematical models, machine learning algorithms, operations research techniques, and strong business acumen to deliver insight, recommendations, and solutions;
  • Develop sustainable, consumable, accurate, and impactful reporting on model inputs, model outputs, observed outputs, business impact, and key performance indicators;
  • Present validated results to all levels of organization, including peers, senior management, and internal customers to drive both strategic and operational changes in business;
  • Demonstrate a moderate level of autonomy in building relationships and networks within current function, interacts often with Data Scientists within organization and peer business partners;
  • Serve as consultant to management and others within a specific area/discipline;
  • Collaborate regularly, acquire support and partnership from cross-functional scientific, engineering and IT teams across the company.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD) or Master's degree: with experience in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or other related quantitative discipline;
  • Experience with visualization, rapid prototyping, and reporting tools such as Spotfire, PowerBI, Tableau and R-Shiny;
  • Experience with geospatial image analytics, agricultural image analysis, deployment of computer vision models in cloud infrastructure as well as mobile apps;
  • Demonstrates basic understanding of software development best practices: Version Control, Code Documentation & Review, Cloud Based Sequence Analysis, Database Management;
  • Exemplify visionary mindset and ability to think and act strategically, combined with execution orientation; ability to solve problems and to structure and simplify complex tasks; experience in successful delivery of valuable analysis through application of domain knowledge;
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen;
  • Strong communication competencies to include presentations and delivery of complex quantitative analyses in a clear, concise, and actionable manner to extended team and small groups of key stakeholders;
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two+ years demonstrated experience developing end-to-end deep learning and machine learning pipelines including data preprocessing, model development and evaluation, model deployment, data, and model drift detections;
  • Two+ years of practical experience in developing and deploying computer vision and deep learning solutions to solve real world problems using deep learning libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, MXNet, PyTorch and Scikit-Learn.
