We are seeking an Intern for Cash Collection Forecast project to work directly with Jan Kriz, Senior Manager of Business Intelligence and Data Science. The intern will assist in customizing our Cash Collection Forecast project, which is a vital component of our Cash Flow Forecast process. This project uses cutting-edge techniques such as Timeseries Forecast with Prophet algorithm and regression forecast with XGBoost and Catboost algorithms to predict the amount of money the company will receive before the end of the quarter. The intern will be involved in recreating the current solution, primarily developed in SQL and Python, using Power BI, as well as testing new functionalities in Databricks and ML Flow, a low-code/no-code environment for Machine Learning projects. While Jan will guide and support the intern, we expect the intern to show a degree of independence and a passion for learning new technologies and approaches.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in customizing the Cash Collection Forecast project using Power BI, SQL, and Python
  • Collaborate with Jan to test new functionalities of Databricks and ML Flow for Machine Learning projects
  • Work with the team to optimize and automate data processing and data load
  • Build predictive models for known invoices and credit memos using the Timeseries Forecast with Prophet algorithm
  • Build regression models using XGBoost and Catboost algorithms to forecast missing values until the end of the quarter
  • Create Power BI dashboards for weekly and quarterly overviews and the ability to drill down to transaction level
  • Participate in team meetings and report on progress and results
  • Learn and apply new technologies and approaches to improve the project

Qualifications:

  • Some experience with Python, SQL, and Power BI is preferred but not required (at least reading and understanding basic code is enough)
  • Passion for Machine Learning and willingness to learn new technologies and approaches
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 3 months
